Spotted a golden eagle near Quinag!

Had the most incredible wildlife moment today. A golden eagle swooped right over our heads on the walk up Quinag. Wingspan was enormous - must have been 2 metres. Absolutely took my breath away.

Brilliant! That's a known territory for a pair. The Assynt area is one of the best in Scotland for golden eagles. Keep your eyes on the ridgelines - they often soar along the thermals there.

Jealous! I've spent years in the hills and only seen a golden eagle twice. Once on Liathach and once near Sandwood Bay. You were very lucky.
