Where are the best spots to see seals from the shore on the NC500? We saw a few at Gairloch last time but wondering if there are reliable colonies elsewhere.

Loch Fleet near Golspie has a huge colony - you can see them from the road. Also the small harbour at Portskerra on the north coast. They just lounge on the rocks there completely unbothered.

Kyle of Tongue bridge - stop and look over the side. I've seen seals there every single time. Also Oldshoremore beach near Durness, especially at low tide.

The boat trips from Kylesku to see the seal colony at the base of Eas a' Chual Aluinn waterfall are fantastic. You get seals and Britain's highest waterfall in one trip.
