Deer rutting season - where to watch safely

Planning to time my NC500 trip with the deer rut in October. Where are the best spots to watch safely without disturbing them?

Glen Torridon is excellent for the rut. You can hear the stags bellowing from the road. Keep your distance though - rutting stags are unpredictable and dangerous. 100 metres minimum.

The area around Beinn Eighe nature reserve is good too. Early morning is best - get there at dawn and you'll often see them on the hillside. Bring a telephoto lens.
