Just had another cracking meal at the Applecross Inn last weekend. Prawns, scallops, and a pint of Skye Gold. Is there a better pub lunch on the NC500?

The Applecross Inn is special but the Kylesku Hotel gives it a run for its money. Both are unmissable. Get the king prawns at Applecross - enormous.

Went in August and had to wait 90 minutes for a table. Food was excellent when it came though. Book ahead if you can or go at an off-peak time.

The venison burger is underrated. Everyone goes for the seafood (rightly so) but the burger is genuinely one of the best I've ever had.

Unpopular opinion: I think the Shore Restaurant in Lochinver is better for seafood. The Applecross Inn has the atmosphere though, I'll give it that.
