We're thinking of hiring a 7-metre motorhome. Are the single track roads on the west coast manageable or will I regret it? Bit nervous about Bealach na Ba.

I'd keep it under 6 metres if possible. The single tracks around Durness and the west coast are tight and the passing places are small. You'll be reversing a LOT in something that size.

Bealach na Ba in a 7-metre motorhome? I wouldn't fancy it. The hairpin bends are steep and tight. Take the coast road via Shieldaig instead - it's lovely and much less stressful.

Locals will not thank you for blocking the single tracks in a massive motorhome. Go smaller or stick to the A-roads. The locals need these roads to get to work and school.
